Street Address : 228-230 Sydenham Street
Daniel and Dina Ryan lived next door to their store here at the corner of Sydenham and Colborne. He was born in Shvishlotz, Russia, as was she. They married in 1903—he wanted to avoid conscription into the Russian Army. Kingston was chosen as their New World destination because her sister Fanny Cohen had already settled there.
At first, he worked at the Davis Tannery. By 1907, he opened up a grocery store here across from Central Public School.
