Short Summary : The Batoche and Lundy’s Lane schools are situated on the Kingston military base. The Batoche School has been francophone since 1974, and in 1988 new professors are hired. In 1989 the two schools come together to create the Niagara Park School. The same year, Canada’s defence minister transfers the management of the school to the provincial school system. In Kingston, and agreement is made between the public and military base school boards, so that the students of three existing schools are transferred to the public school board. Evidently, there is some friction between the catholic and public school boards. In 1995 the Niagra Park public school adopts a French program and changes its name to Madeleine-de-Roybon.
